CONTINUANCE
This portrait emerged from a call from “The Creative Coven”, which was a call for portraits to give faces to the 625 unnamed women of 3,837 people accused of witchcraft in Scotland. I used my own face for this. It is entirely possible that my own kin were part of this group.

I decided to create her in this process of transformation into Owl, perhaps simultaneous with her death. Her knowing eyes say that her ending is only in this form, that her energy is of the Earth and will continue to unite with Earth.
